A Message from the CEO | Empowerment: This is the way.
As we’ve all now immersed ourselves into 2022, I have been taking a deeper dive into how far we’ve come since kicking off the United Tax Service’s rebuild in Q3 of 2019. As we all know, this spanned two very challenging years to say the least. But despite the many complications faced during those 24 months we were able to grow our top line over 200% and our net business revenue over 190%. This is an amazing accomplishment considering all the system development costs we have incurred during this time. This could only be made possible by the stellar contributions from our outstanding UTS sales and production teams. And while Q1 has been significantly slower out of the gate, our sales pipeline and product strategies will certainly be bearing fruit as we move into Q2 and Q3.
Our philosophy right from the start has always been to provide a great experience for our customers. However, a great experience shouldn’t only be for the customers, but also for our employees. It’s all about building a team of people who have one purpose in mind, and that is to grow our company. My role as a servant leader is to provide strong, crystal-clear leadership while fostering a healthy and positive working culture. Introducing goals, stretch goals and challenging our employees to take that next step, all the while creating depth and width in our organization to allow for real, meaningful growth is a must. It’s vital to provide empowerment to our employees, enabling them to be autonomous, giving them the power to make decisions, and guiding them when they need help and support.
Based on research published by Forbes, “employees who felt a low level of empowerment rated their engagement score at, as low as 24% whereas those with a high level of empowerment rated their score at 79% in their organization.” Holding monthly one-on-one meets with all our employees is a core belief. When employees feel heard, they feel valued and in turn, feel empowered.
We are excited for what 2022 has in store for us. We are bullish on our future, and we have built a unique and fundamentally sound business strategy. We know beyond certainty that we can overcome any challenges that may come our way.
